Faculty:     Visual Communication Design

Level:        Under Graduate Students

Year:         2019

The unit aims at experimenting with typographic design and/or letterform design from a variety of approaches. Also, examine its possibilities as an expressive form in relation to syntax and visual communication. Students moved away from the traditional meaning of a letterform/font and worked more on a larger abstract idea. They were expected to dive into the Indic Scripts and use various Indian languages as an object to communicate. Students have experimented with unconventional materials to create Indic letterforms. Later, they combined these crafted letters to form meaningful words or phrases in their own mother tongue to communicate broader concepts through 3D typographic design.
