Depusta is a serif typeface developed during 2011-12 at Type and Media. The design idea behind the typeface was coming from Peter Verhual’s high and low contrast exercise. Depusta has been shaped through the calligraphy and lettering sketches of the Latin letters. Shapes of the letters are more organic and faithful to its original rendering which make the typeface look sophisticated. It is a low contrast text typeface suitable for long text typesetting like magazines and books. Currently Depusta is in the process of making a low contrast version of it. Also in the future it is ambitious to see Devanagari companion of the Depusta’s design.
